Thank you so much for your prayers... The blood test went great and didn't hurt a bit! When I was done my mom took me to target and we bought Taylor Swift's Christmas cd!

Jesus Loves Us!

Please pray for my dad, who has to work through Christmas Day. He's really upset about it and I am too! :( thanks! God bless.

Gracie

Please pray for Alberta Kuper's soul. She was a teacher at our school. She was very young, only 24, and she dies very suddenly last winter. Today would have been her birthday, so it is especially hard.
Also please pray for my family. We all have awful coughs, and my dad has bronchitis. 2 years ago he got it so bad he was in the hospital and he was so sick so please pray that it doesn't get that bad again.
Also please pray for me...I have a ton of tests theses last few days before Christmas.

Maryrose

Please pray for a teacher in my school. She had to go to a big hospital to get her baby out early yesterday. This is because the baby has some heart problems. The baby was born, and his name is William. Please pray that he will live.

Mariah

Please, please, please pray for my family as we are just getting into this terrible stomach flu that lasts about a week, right before Christmas!  :(  Also, my mom would like me to pray for a special intention.

Gwen

Please pray for my sister, she just broke up with her boyfriend and he was really sweet. Please help them get back together and stay together. And  for all young couples having trouble,
Lord hear our prayer!

Bekah

Please pray for me... I have to have a blood test Tuesday and I am SOOOOOO scared :(

Jesus Loves Us!

Let us pray for those who do not have a place to go for Christmas.
That the Lord will fill their Hearts with the Joy of the season and that they will be truly blessed with God's Kindness and generousity.

Hey, It's Advent Time!

Advent is the time of the Liturgical Calendar when we prepare and wait to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is a time of joyful expectation. It's easy to get distracted with the many material things around you, the decorations, Christmas baking and many activities that fill your day. Have you found out that sometimes the busier you are the crabbier you get? That's why we want to focus on joy and cheerfulness during this advent.

Joy and Cheerfulness

Here are some facts you need to know:

  • The source of your joy should be the realization that You are a Daughter of the King
  • A negative attitude is innapropriate for a Daughter of God. During Advent, focus on finding the good in everything
  • Many people think that they will be happier when they have more, when they receive more praise and recognition. Do you?
  • Selfishness makes a person miserable and also makes life more difficult for others.
  • You shouldn't rely on your mood to be cheerful
  • Joy and cheerfulness come from being very close to Jesus. It is important you make the time during Advent to pray and prepare your heart for His birth.

Let's get to work!

Ok, now that you know some things about joy and cheerfulness, it's time to make a plan on how to practice and grow in these virtues during Advent. The first step is to go to confession during this special time. In confession your sins are forgiven and Jesus makes your soul beautifully clean. Besides confession, you need to make an effort every day to grow in joy and cheerfulness. Here is an examination of conscience that you can do everyday. You may want to copy and paste it so that you can print it and have it handy to check it every night:

  • Did I smile, even when it was hard or I didn't feel like it? (Sometimes that's the best gift you can give your family!)
  • Did I envy others or feel jealous?
  • Was I willing to help out when asked?
  • Did I realize that I am a Daughter of the King?
  • Was I moody and whiney?
  • Did I spend time praying? Did I say the Holy Rosary or a few mysteries?
  • Did I find the good in everything, even in the things that were difficult?

Make a resolution every night after you examine your conscience. Write it down and  read it the next morning when you do your morning offering, so that you remember to work on it during the day. Always remember that, A Girl's Gotta Have a Plan!
